In the German comedy Karli & Marie, a Bavarian road movie, two people who have suffered greatly meet: Karli breaks into vending machines, but likes to pretend he is a soldier in the German army and a bomb disposal expert. Marie has won a beauty contest, but also has a deceased husband behind her. On an adventurous journey, the two begin to cautiously grow closer.
