Ascot Elite Entertainment secures the rights to the Korean number 1 hit Hi-Five for German-speaking Europe

Ascot Elite Entertainment is delighted to have acquired all rights for German-speaking Europe to Kang Hyoung-chul's action comedy HI-FIVE.

This innovative, fast-paced and incredibly funny action comedy captivates from the very first minute and, with its high tension and great fights, leaves no eye dry.
This perfect mix has also led to box office success in its home country of Korea (released on 30 May 2025), where it even surpassed Tom Cruise and his Mission Impossible franchise to take first place on its opening weekend and then went on to gain even more ground on its second weekend.

HI-FIVE was written and directed by experienced writer and director Kang Hyong-chul. The cast includes Yoo Ah-in (known from BURNING), Oh Jung-se, Park Jin-young, Ahn Jae-hong, Lee Jae-in, Ra Mi-ran (known from REPLY 1988) and Kim Hee-won.

Synopsis: In the middle of the night, a body donated for organ transplants mysteriously disintegrates into ashes. Soon after, five recipients who received a heart, corneas, lungs, a liver and kidneys begin to develop supernatural powers. A teenage girl gains immense strength, a hipster manipulates electromagnetic waves, a writer conjures powerful gusts of wind, a factory manager can heal others, and a woman discovers a strange, as yet unknown ability. Together, they form a reluctant but heroic team known as ‘HI-FIVE.’ But they are not the only ones who have been transformed. A cult leader who received the donor's pancreas gains the terrifying ability to suck out life energy and sets out to steal HI-FIVE's abilities to achieve godlike rule.

HI-FIVE will celebrate its Swiss premiere this summer at a renowned festival. A festival appearance in Germany is also planned for the autumn.

The turbulent film will then be made available to a wide audience in home entertainment (TVOD, EST, SVOD and physically on DVD/BR).
