Mein Freund Barry celebrates successful cinema release and takes second place in the weekend box office charts

Following the successes of STILLER and HALLO BETTY, Ascot Elite Entertainment has already delivered its next Swiss box office hit.

Almost 21,000 enthusiastic cinema fans of all ages saw MEIN FREUND BARRY on the big screen during its first weekend (a total of 26,600 cinema-goers including previews and Wednesday's launch in German-speaking Switzerland) and were enchanted by the thrilling story, impressive panoramic shots and heart-warming narrative. This puts the family film produced by Atlantis Pictures in a fantastic second place in the Swiss box office charts for the weekend.

After this strong start, MEIN FREUND BARRY is now set for an extended cinema run. The encouraging audience figures are likely to continue to develop positively, especially over the long sports holidays.

Next Thursday, Ascot Elite Entertainment will release THE HOUSEMAID, the next potential blockbuster in German-speaking Switzerland. The film has already enjoyed great success in French-speaking Switzerland and, with over 80,000 viewers to date, is on a par with the successful Mockingjay titles in THE HUNGER GAMES series.
