The new survival thriller film by Oscar winner Ron Howard features a star-studded cast, including Jude Law, Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby, Daniel Brühl and Sydney Sweeney. The survival thriller EDEN is based on real events that took place on the Galapagos Islands in 1934 and later became known as the Galápagos Affair. Conflicts broke out between European settlers on the previously uninhabited island of Floreana, resulting in the deaths of three settlers and the disappearance of three others without a trace. The unexplained circumstances and differing accounts of the survivors triggered a worldwide media response at the time and speculation about the true events. Director Ron Howard himself came into contact with the events during a visit to the Galapagos Islands in the late 2000s and has been working on a cinematic adaptation ever since.
