England, June 1944: Under the supreme command of U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower (Brendan Fraser), the largest naval invasion in history is about to take place. But the success of the Allied landing in Normandy depends on a single, unpredictable factor: the weather. In the decisive 72 hours leading up to D-Day, British Chief Meteorologist Captain James Stagg (Andrew Scott) must issue the most momentous weather forecast of his life. As the pressure mounts relentlessly, he finds himself in a bitter conflict with the Allied military leadership. Only a few hours remain to find the narrow window of opportunity that could determine the success or failure of the invasion—and thus the fate of millions of people.
